Brian Dowell has been kicked out of clubs
and colleges all around the country. Truly a “comic’s comic”,
the tall, lanky, cynical,
controversial thirty two year
old sets comedy club stages ablaze with his searing brand of caustic
social commentary. Spilling his guts on grievances large and small, he has
quickly become one of his generation’s most shocking, prolific and
hilarious comedic voices. In the grand tradition of Lenny Bruce and Bill
Hicks, he truly puts the BLUE back in
blue-collar comedy. This champion of unpopular causes is a rare voice of
reason in an increasingly crazy world.
He was born in Memphis, raised in a
depressing small town in Arkansas, and went to high
school in the suburbs of St. Louis. Moving around
this much in his childhood gave Dowell both a short attention span and a wide
world view. As a frustrated failed journalist, he started storming the
standup comedy stages of Albuquerque, New Mexico, out of boredom.
Dowell then moved to a crappy studio apartment in Los Angeles, where he
perfected his comedic craft, gained a following and placed highly in several
comedy contests. Now the edgy purveyor of comic hostility lives in the Midwest and tours
consistently, performing 250 times a year, everywhere he can possibly get
to. Whether he suggests why midgets be allowed in the military,
recounts the details of his divorce, or discusses his hatred of musicians,
every show is different, unique and unforgettable. Brian
Dowell takes audiences on an unpredictable
high charge thrill ride that is guaranteed to be a
“humdinger”.
